After reading the reviews about MER in GMAT Club and visiting MER’s website, I decided to sign up for comprehensive school package. The primary reasons for my decision were: budget friendly, personalized approach, positive reviews and Poonam’s expertise in the field.
After initial review, the 1- hour counseling session was intense and informative. It helped me understand my profile very well and gave me an overall idea about the application process. The Resume building guidance was great. The template and guidelines to structure the résumé were very helpful. Also, Poonam guided me immensely as to how to portray my achievements by using strong action words.
Poonam helped me understand my profile and its strengths and weaknesses and how to address the same. She also suggested me ways to craft stories that reflect my strengths, achievements and extra-curricular, helping my profile gain the right weightage. Poonam shared with me with her valuable tips as to how to structure the essay and write the story in a coherent way. Her way of storytelling is commendable.
Poonam helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses of my profile very well. She always encouraged me to leverage my strengths overshadowing my weaknesses Poonam edited the long sentences into one or two liners, keeping the gist intact. The best thing that I liked about her is that she follows a collaborative approach. She values my inputs and also shares her best suggestions on the same, resulting in a story that is unique. She answered all my queries promptly and tried to help in the best way possible. Since I had signed up for comprehensive school package, Poonam edited my LORs nicely, making them crisper and freer of grammatical errors.
The mock interview’s look and feel was similar to an actual interview. Poonam helped me understand the particular type of a question and how to best answer it. Also, after the mock interview she shared with me a detailed written feedback which was indeed very informative and helpful.
Lastly, I would like to say that Poonam is very friendly and approachable and maintains the time line that we agreed during the enrollment e. Her approach is professional and tailored to the profile of individual applicant. She has proficiency in edits and storytelling.
I have received an offer of admission from Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, Canada. I would like to recommend MER to prospective applicants.
