"Admits from 3 schools (GW, University of Sydney & Degreete) two with scholarships (GW, Sydney)"My experience with MER was great. I had initially brainstormed and written 10 pages of content. I then had to choose the best parts and condense those 10 pages into 500- and 750-word essays. A few days before the 1 hour skype call, I sent this 10-page document to Poonam. She reviewed it and had a better understanding of my story. During the skype call we went over which parts of those 10 pages would fit together to form a good story. We also discussed how we would be tackling different essays from different institutions. We then started working on essays from one school at a time. The turnaround was quick. I usually responded within a day and Poonam did the same. If she was unable to respond with the 24-48-hour period due to prior commitments, she let me know in advance. Poonam did a great job in reducing the word count and bringing it within the limit. It was hard to decide which parts to cut, but we managed to keep most of it by changing the sentence structure. Given the complicated nature of applications and the additional emphasis needed to convince admission committees on "why" I wanted to pursue a second MBA, I signed up for MER services for my essays.
At the end of the day, that was the best decision I made. Her one-hour session on skype was very productive, and I learnt a significant amount on how to best present my resume and essays. During this session, we developed an action plan for the essays which was helpful when I started drafting them.
Poonam gave me very good advice on presenting content to effectively answer the questions asked. One specific recommendation that was very helpful was on the ‘failure’ essay. I had a ‘weak’ failure and Poonam encouraged me to think deeper and present a different one. From a structure perspective, I really liked how my ECA essay was revamped from being reverse chronological to chronological. I think it brought out different aspects of my personality really well.

The 1-hour brainstorming session was very productive and eye-opening since it highlighted things that I could include in my essay. Since I had only one essay of 500 words, it was challenging to fit all the required information into the essay. However, with Poonam’s expert guidance, we were able to highlight all the relevant information within the prescribed word limit. Additionally, her expert guidance highlighted the right stories, and more importantly, the content within those stories was the highlight of my application experience with her.
The word limit was the most challenging part of the application. With Poonam’s guidance and restructuring suggestions, I was able to trim down my first draft of 1500 words to the final draft of 500 words without losing any key parts of my story and message.
