Excellent guidance from Poonam helped me get into the Wharton EMBA- my first choiceI signed up for MER services for help and guidance with MBA application essays and resume. After the first review of resume and essays, we had two long counseling sessions on Zoom. What I liked the most was that though each session was scheduled for 1 hour, Poonam did not bother about how long it took until we got the perfect outcome. It was good to be asked questions about my motivation to apply for MBA. Poonam made me think deeper and dig into myself and be clear about my own objectives as well as background. It helped me to articulate my thoughts. Here are my thoughts on each aspect of the process :
1. Resumé building:
Before this year, I had never thought about building my resume for a generic or business-focused role. My resume was completely technical and full of very industry-specific jargon. Poonam helped with picking out what was important and then translating the technical achievements to plain English while keeping the impact of the achievement. The call helped as I was able to explain what exactly I had done, and Poonam updated my resume and took notes in the call.
2. Essay Help- Content (Understanding profile and positioning of stories):
This was the step I enjoyed the most while working with Poonam. The discussions we had on the zoom call were very introspective for me, and Poonam helped me clarify my own goals and desires and then put them down into words. With the zoom meeting, I was able to put my thoughts into the right words and make a meaningful impactful essay.
3. Structure/ organization: (Organizing details to make the story flow better):
This was all Poonam – I completely used her pointers to create an interesting coherent flow in my essays. I would have been totally lost without this guidance. It helped to have some pointers for the structure and for me to think about what experiences I wanted to share and establish a flow that would keep my readers interested.
4. Editing Skills (Sentence structure, grammar, punctuation):
I was expecting Poonam to be great at this from all the reviews I had read, and the outcome was just as expected. She is an editing genius and helped keep my essays within word limit while also keeping the gist and main ideas impactful enough.
5. Answering queries:
I received some good suggestions and out-of-the-box answers to my questions that I posted in my drafts. Poonam was never pushy, but her experience definitely showed through all the answers to questions I had.
6. Turnarounds (Response time):
Just as expected and agreed upon – Poonam was very prompt to reply and always communicated if at all any turnaround was going to be late. I really appreciated her keeping me in the loop and openness.
I will recommend Poonam to anyone who is seeking advice to write great essays for MBA applications. Poonam helped me clarify my own reasons for an MBA. It was great having discussions over zoom meetings and just talking to Poonam as a person. She brought out my strengths and unique capabilities in the essays. I am delighted to say that I have received an admission offer from the Wharton EMBA program.

Admitted to McCombs with MER !!!When applying to my dream business schools, I had only separated, pieces of ideas that I wanted to convey into the essays, but I didn’t know how to put them together. I learned about MER services which are highly recommended by the GMATClub community, made further research about MER and Poonam, and then quickly decided that MER is the perfect solution to guide me through the critical brainstorming process. I was lucky in making the immediate decision because available spots are filled rapidly, and I was happy to be one of a few candidates collaborating with MER each application round.
Poonam paid great attention to details and laid out the next steps for us to work on. It was so easy to talk to her because she cares about my story. She also made an initial evaluation of my profile and suggested which MBA programs that fit.
I’ve worked on my resume multiple times applying for jobs and other short programs such as the Global Energy Leadership at Rice, therefore I thought I was in a good spot to use the same resume version. And I also waived my right to check the LORs because I trusted that my recommenders knew me well enough to write those letters positively. Poonam helped me to understand what is needed in a one-page resume, there’s redundancy to be removed and information (usually be thought of as unnecessary) to be added. She also went beyond to advise me and offer her editing to clarify the sentences. My resume was presented in a transparent, connected, and sufficient. Thanks to her work.
Poonam gave me plenty of time to work on the questionnaire. It’s the next step after our zoom session to provide wider and deeper perspectives of my background, historically and emotionally. With her guidance and analysis, I answered the questionnaire only to realize that it was tailored to help me understand more about myself and my beliefs. The art of applying to business schools is knowing how to mix the significant desire of being successful (higher salary, reputation school, switching jobs, relocations, etc.) in the future with the humility of who you are as a person. Therefore, it’s a valuable time spent to think, answer, refine the mindset, and answer the questionnaire again and again.
She has the experience and wisdom to clearly understand my profile in a short time. She also knows exactly what characteristics business school will find interesting in a candidate and help me to spell out those enthusiastically. Organization of details was the most exciting aspect while working with her. With her review, everything I thought was perfectly structured was positioned in a stronger system. That helped me gain confidence in my resume and essay. She carefully paid attention to my background even in our first meeting before registration. So I had no doubts about her capability in sections that needed greater focus on detail. In fact, she beautifully broke the long sentences and divided them into more concise, simpler ones with carefully chosen words. I couldn’t and would never find her misses on word counting, grammar, or punctuation. Editing is her genius!
Poonam not only keeps our agreed timeline work but also understands that nothing is a fixed bullet point. I have a kid and a full-time job, therefore, I deal with the changed schedules all the time, and Poonam was so flexible, responsive, and patient to work with. And she always clarified my doubts/ questions in a super short time. She committed to deadlines and promises and let me know how many days she would take to revert while she was working on multiple applications simultaneously. They are solid commitments and I never got wrong with her response time. She helped me craft my resume and essays, and gave them a clear sense of purpose, conciseness, and strong voice about who am I and what I could bring to the class (in business schools). She always did repetitive reviews to guarantee there were no weak spots left in my resume and essays.
Poonam prepared me for a mock interview within two days after I apprised her of my interview invitation. It was a serious process of analyzing my performance so that I can equip myself better for the D-day. All actions and details were discussed by Poonam, and she gave tons of valuable advice that if I weren’t aware of, I would not have felt confident of having the important interview.
Application to business schools is not the same as applying for jobs but must be viewed as a learning process. And Poonam is a brilliant instructor for your learning. You will always expect your mentor to listen to your voice, understand who you are as a person, accept your failure, and encourage you to do the right thing; an instructor who is disciplined, experienced, and has a high value in your work. And you will find such personalities in Poonam.
I’ve learned so much from her and enjoyed every moment of working with her. If you’re thinking about business schools, I strongly recommend you reach out to Poonam and schedule your call with her.
I am happy to say that I have received an admission offer from McComb’s EMBA program, and I would like to say that this is my second MBA.

Thank you, MER (Poonam) for my Wharton EMBA admissionI came across MER during my search for an MBA consultant to help me with my EMBA applications for top business schools. I went through multiple other MBA consultant websites but found MER unique, after reading through the success stories and experiences of other MER students.
My initial call with Poonam was very affirmative and informational. Initially, I was not even considering applying to top business schools, but after talking to Poonam, I got the motivation and self-confidence that I should apply to top business schools. In my first call, I remember Poonam saying that you will only get a single chance to go through this wonderful application process. I didn’t quite understand it back then, but now after going through the process with her, I understand why. It’s an interesting process where you not only write application essays but also learn how and why you write them and what is admission committee is looking for.
Each counseling session was great and very informational. Poonam is very organized and has the editing process in place to speed up the application process. While writing essays, I learned a lot about myself. Poonam explained to me the STAR method to write situational essays which I am pretty sure will help me in the future. She also pointed out things that the admission committee looks for in LORs and suggested ideas that make your case more promising to the admission committee.
Poonam just didn’t only help build my resume, but also explained the entire process of how I should write the resume and what the admission committee is looking for. I believe it will help me in entire my career. I chuckle when I see my old 2-page resume, which was bad (No wonder, I didn’t get many jobs interview calls). She helped me reduce it to a very brief and concise one-page resume. This will not only help me apply for business schools but throughout the rest of my life.
She is very direct and knows what is important and whatnot.
Poonam not only edited my essays but also helped me pick the best stories to make my case very strong. She knows what stories will be appealing to add to the application. It is very natural for her to read your essay and point out what should go where. Going through the essay writing process, now I see how my essay transformed from my first draft to the final essay. Reading through the final essay, I didn’t believe my stories could be this powerful. She makes sure the essay flows nicely and stories are all lined up to show your candidacy.
Poonam not only makes sure the grammar, and punctuation are correct, but she structures your sentences in a very nice way. In fact, I was never worried about the word limit because I knew Poonam has extraordinary skills to cut down my essays to the allowed word limit without trimming my stories. She also makes sure to use simple words, so it looks like it is written by you and not by an English Professor.
Poonam is very knowledgeable and supportive at the same time. Whenever I had any questions about any of the application steps, I reached out to her, and she was always there to help me with my queries. The response time for essays was less than 12 hours and she made sure that my application was ready before the deadline. She is very responsive if you have any questions about the application process and makes sure that she answers your questions correctly.
One of the best things I learned through this process was learning about myself. She pointed out my weaknesses and highlighted my strengths, making my case realistic and strong at the same time. Personally, I think it is good because you get a very true opinion about yourself and how you are being portrayed to others.
Interview Prep: To be honest, my mock interview with Poonam was more rigorous and realistic than my real interview. It prepared me well for my actual interview with the business school interviewer. Poonam gave me confidence on how to interview and what should and shouldn’t I say during the interview. She made sure I am fully prepared for the interview. I remember, my laptop battery died during my mock interview with Poonam, and I had to leave the mock interview for a few seconds. She pointed out that I should be extra prepared for unusual events like this. She asked relevant questions and provided nice feedback towards the end of the interview. She also sent a detailed written feedback report on the mock interview which is always very helpful to go back and prepare.
I enjoyed the entire application process working with Poonam. One thing I really liked about Poonam is that she works with only 6 candidates at a time. That gives her enough time to read through your stories, understand your point of view, and provide feedback. Sometimes, it even feels like she is only working on your essays because she is totally invested in you. Working with her, I always felt motivated and inspired not only during essays but also during the time I was preparing for my EA exam.
I am happy to inform you that I am accepted into Wharton’s EMBA program. No doubt, I would like to recommend her to the prospective applicants. She has great English background and experience in writing essays for business schools and her style of working with each applicant personally makes her unique. I don’t think you will get the same package as her from another MBA consultant.

Received admit offers from UCLA Anderson and Berkeley HaasI wanted to ensure I provide the best possible essays for my application such that I can highlight unique aspects of my story and ensure it aligns with the guidance from the Ad Comms. Based on the online reviews, I decided to sign up for Poonam’s help with my essays.
1- hour Zoom Session was the most productive and game-changing part of my essay writing experience. Poonam clearly explained how a reader who does not know me perceives my story. She pushed me to probe myself deeper and identify unique aspects of my identity to complete the stories written in my essay. This session also helped us align on which aspects to highlight for which specific essay and how to balance between various attributes and cultural elements that B schools are looking for. Poonam spent a lot of time understanding my profile, and background and helped position the appropriate stories for the required essays. After we finalized the content, Poonam worked her magic through my essay drafts by re-ordering the content to ensure a smooth flow for a story and made it easy to read.
Editing is Poonam’s greatest strength. She made magic happen by editing the essays, reducing the word count by 200 words, and still highlighting the gist of the story and the emotions behind it. Her turnarounds were quick, and she was highly responsive in answering queries.
I have secured admits at UCLA Anderson and Berkeley Haas! Getting these admits has been a dream come true, and her feedback and editing skills have made a huge difference. Thank you very much for the excellent and timely help in making this possible.
I would highly recommend Poonam for essay and application services for B schools!

Accepted into UCLA's EMBA program. Thanks, PoonamI signed up for MER services to have an expert eye in order to maximize my approval rate as it was the first time, I applied to USA business school. The 1-hour counseling session we had was the crux of the whole service because this provided both of us a very good overview of personalities, ask, and expectations. I was excited and amazed to learn that Poonam captured every minute detail I presented to her during our call and used it in the essays. In fact, she reminded me to include some very crucial points to gain a competitive advantage. Very helpful. She did a perfect job not only in understanding my profile but also in capturing every bit of information and helped me in positioning my essay. As a result, the outcome of the essays was exactly the way I wanted.
The story flow and organization of the essays were great, so the outcome was beyond my expectation. Poonam has edited more than 10000 essays and still counting, so I think I am amateur to comment on her editing skills. The resumé review was perfect, too. Poonam was always very professional and on time with clear deadlines. This definitely helped me moving at her pace to meet the end results. She met all of my expectations listed on the MER website. My experience of working with Poonam was wonderful and very professional. I’ll not hesitate to recommend Poonam’s services to anyone.

One of the best decisions to work with MEROne major aspect of anyone's application is the essay, I was looking at what options are there to help to project myself in the best possible way. I wanted to do the first draft even before working with any consultant, and during this time ended up landing on a page with sample essays to help me understand how to approach the application.
Was impressed reading different essay and ended up looking up who has created this must-have document and found that it was created by Poonam mam of MER (myEssayReview). Did a quick cross lookup and found she is one of the top-rated consultants in GMAT Club. Also, the value/cost was nicely poised to convince me to work with Poonam may for my INSEAD application.
She was generous to spend 45+ min just for a free consultation to understand my profile, my application needs and share in detail how the overall process would work for. Also, I was rushing to apply very close to the round 2 end date and still wanted to apply in round 2. With just 12 days in hand and a mountain of work to be addressed (5 essays+ Resume + 2 LORs).
Mam was generous enough to accommodate and went out of her way to revert to me almost 24 hr every single time. But my suggestion would be don't rush, give yourself time to pace this better. Post initial draft for each of the essays, we have 1 hr counseling session on zoom to go over the essay and understand what all changes are needed and what the story which we should be able to focus on more.
This session helped to make the second draft much closer to what I would have wanted the ad com to know about myself. She empowered me to let my thoughts flow and share the stories for the essay and used her magic to meet the word limit. She would not alter the story but would ensure these are crip and clear.
The resume review helped me to convert my multi-page resume into too clean and much suited for EMBA admission. She spends 3 rounds of edits which helped to refine the content. A very similar exercise for LOR helped with a high-level blueprint to share with my recommenders. She ensured the stories and viewpoint of recommenders are not altered at any cause and just focused on structuring / Grammar.
My application was accepted and got an interview call, really glad I worked with her for my application and the value addition it did in my whole process something I would be thankful for forever.
I would highly recommend MER, and very confident your experience would be very similar or much better than what I am personally experienced.
Thank you Poonam mam for all your time and feedback at each round of iteration it helped to get the best out of me.

Thank you , Poonam, for helping me to get into INSEAD’s Global MBA program. You made my dream come true.I was looking for a professionally acclaimed management consultant to guide me through the INSEAD GEMBA admission application. I then came across MER services on the GMAT Club with good ratings and feedback, and after browsing the MER services website and noting the package prices which I compared to other consultants, I decided to sign up for MER services.
The first counseling session with Poonam was comprehensive, and she spent a good amount of time connecting with me at a personal level and understanding my professional background. She took notes of every detail I shared with her, which was very impressive, and encouraged me to start writing those details in the essays.
The second counseling session was 2 hours long in which we went through all the essays and resume where Poonam explained and made me understand what all improvements I had to make and what all questions I needed to address. She was clear with her approach as to where the stories should fit and where the content should be to the point to address the essay topics. I was impressed when she referred to her notes from the first counseling session and suggested I insert specific stories.
Poonam asked relevant questions to test and made me understand how the essay structure should be and how to make the story flow better. Poonam’s editing skills are very impressive as she used the right words to make the sentences short and to the point, which were grammatically correct. She is so good with sentence structures that she managed to reduce my draft essays of 700 words to 299 words limit.
Poonam was very polite in providing me feedback on my resume even though my resume needed many changes. She explained the purpose of resumes for admissions in business schools compared to resumes made for job applications and what the admission committee would like to see. She provided me with a resume template and a few samples to give me an idea of what a great resume looks like. She made my resume impressive by helping me use the right structure and quantify the content. She included all my achievements and hobbies. With the result, my final resume reflected the essays in a crisp way.
She gave me clear instructions on how to present LOR contents. Her guidance helped me guide my recommenders and make sure that the LORs were in line with my essays and resume to remove any inconsistencies.
Poonam is very good and prompt in answering the queries through email within a day as she respects and values the candidate's time and efforts in finalizing the essays, resume, and LORs to meet the agreed timeline. If needed, she is very open to organize a video call to make the candidate understand. She was very prompt in giving very concise and sensible feedback, and her turnaround time was not more than 24 hours at max. Poonam is very clear about her advice, and she knows what she is suggesting to us to do with the essays. She made sure that the final documents are perfect for submission.
Poonam met all my expectations, whatever I thought of having in my consultant, including the nominal package prices. As a result, I have an admission offer from INSEAD. Poonam is a true professional. She is a very knowledgeable, experienced, and humble person. She ticked all the boxes for me as a consultant, and the package prices are great for the services provided. Also, the MER website is an amazing source of information to write essays, resumes, and LORs. I referred to the website almost every time to understand the essay topics.
I consider myself very lucky that I decided to work with Poonam, and fortunately, she had the spot available for me to guide me through the application process.
Without any thought, I will recommend her to other applicants as she has the magic wand to make our essays attractive and impressive for admission in the top business schools.
Thank you very much, Poonam, for helping me to get into INSEAD’s Global MBA program; otherwise, it was an impossible goal for me. You made my dream come true.

Accepted into LBS's MiF Program. Thanks, Poonam!I signed up for myEssayReview because I felt confident working with the CEO of the company, who has vast experience in the field. In our initial email communication, Poonam told me that ten days were not enough to create two essays, I liked her honesty and understood that she was not only about money. Some other consultants I talked to told me that it would take five hours. Communicating with her via email gave me the confidence to trust her with my application. I signed up for her services without talking to her.
I found the Zoom meeting valuable to present my profile and look for the possible routes we could take to achieve outstanding essays. Moreover, I felt she really cared to know the person well and understand his/her abilities to use them in the essays. I am grateful for her help in enhancing my CV and adding value to my essays by not keeping apart essential events in my life.
I really appreciate the effort and commitment she made during the process. Mainly, I would like to thank her for helping me understand that the essays were more about my life's special details and not a general idea with general statements that I was putting in my initial drafts. She took her time to understand my profile and use the best characteristics of my non-professional life to boost the content of the essays.
Organizing the essays was the principal differentiator of working with her. When she gave me the pointers for essays, I found it very easy to write them, especially for the second one. Moreover, the edits were instrumental in making the story more compelling. As a non-native speaker, I felt her reviews were undoubtedly essential for the correct grammar of the essays. She improved the way I connect sentences and paragraphs, making the essays flow better. She answered all my questions very clearly and gave me additional insights to brainstorm and rearrange my ideas.
Poonam’s turnaround is another critical differentiator of her services, and I think she can publicize it more. Despite having plenty of time to complete my essays, it was important to have a quick response from her and know that she did not rush to accomplish the timeline we agreed at the beginning.
Overall, I am very pleased to have worked with Poonam. Her work has exceeded my expectations and made me gain the confidence I needed when I first started looking for guidance. Poonam definitely gave me invaluable help through all the process.
I will definitely recommend Poonam to any students and even hire her again if I decided to continue with further studies in the future.
Thank you!

Accepted into Haas and Kellogg Part-Time Programs. Thanks to Poonam of MER!I worked with Poonam during winter 2020 on three applications, so far I have gotten into two of those schools (Haas and Kellogg) for MBA and awaiting results from Booth. Poonam was insightful, encouraging, and disciplined in her approach towards bringing out the authenticity and originality in my story within set deadlines. A master of her craft, she was uncompromising on the quality of output and I would gladly recommend her to any prospective MBA student aiming at the world's top schools. Thank you, Poonam, you're AWESOME!
Slightly longer version:
I was introduced to MER by a friend who had recommended Poonam as he had hired Poonam to get into Haas in past.
Intro: We had an hour of introductory chat detailing my purpose, the profile, reasoning for choosing schools and by the end, I decided to hire Poonam for a 3 school package.
Essays: Poonam asked me to write about the 'why' behind my dreams and she sieved out the purpose from my life stories to knit together a compelling narrative. I was surprised that how she approached solving problems in a structured manner while adhering to strict timelines, holding me accountable, and setting examples of good quality work through action.
Poonam pushed me when it was required and let me write things I felt were more "me." We had disagreements too but in the end, they led to constructive work which in the end only helped me bring out a polished application.
Resume: We went through 1-2 rounds of resume review improving on the overly-engineering descriptions of my experience.
Interview prep: A round of mock interview session, followed by written and verbal feedback. This helped iron out a few issues that I was overlooking. Very helpful in the end calming my nerves.
Follow-up: Poonam followed up about my applications after their submissions and also helped me write scholarship application essays.
I don't do the recommendation things in writing for any service ever, but getting into Kellogg and Haas was my dream and I feel that others could benefit from my story.
Thank you, MER and Poonam!

Accepted into Kellogg EMBA Program. Thank you, Poonam!I heard about MER services through e-Gmat. Browsing through the website, reading, and hearing client testimonials increased my interest in MER services. I felt the free consultation was helpful for both me and Poonam. It was important for Poonam to understand my profile, goals, and gauge how she felt my candidacy was. At the same time, it was important for me to understand how the process works and establish timelines to stay focused. One thing I liked during our 1st consultation that Poonam was very clear and straight about her concern with the amount of experience I had and what the programs might be looking for. I really appreciate how honest she was.
With the package, I signed up for Poonam was supposed to schedule only one 1-hour session, but since we couldn’t finish reviewing all the essays under 1 hour, she was flexible and kind enough to schedule an additional session. I liked the way she was prompt, patient in understanding each story/content in the essays, making notes, providing suggestions, and most importantly not rushing through the time. This shows her dedication towards the client.
MIT required 3 essays in addition to the Statement of Purpose. We started off with a total of 5 essays and after detailed counseling sessions, we discussed which essays would be the best fit and how we would want to position them. Again, I think the key part was understanding my profile and stories clearly and determining the best fit which Poonam has done in an excellent manner. She is a dedicated individual. I remember I was having a bit of struggle with the SOP, but Poonam’s constant moral support helped a lot. I really liked the final version of SOP and comparing it to my 1 st draft, it was improved tremendously. Without Poonam’s support, it would not have been possible.
I liked the STAR approach for essays and the methodology for keeping track of changes/edits in the word document. Also, including comments helped me understand the conversation get additional context. My initial draft of my resume was mostly technical since I have a technical background. Removing the technical terms and focusing more on projects and accomplishments was important to turn it into a Business School Resume, and Poonam helped me think in that direction. In fact, I plan to stick with this approach going forward.
Also, the LOR guidance she gave helped provide direction for my recommenders. Apart from general essay questions, I had some outstanding questions during my school application and Poonam quickly responded to them without any hesitation. Poonam was very prompt with her reverts and adhered to the 24-48 hours turnaround timeline we agreed to. In fact, due to my work schedule, I didn’t meet those expectations sometimes, but she understood and was flexible to adjust accordingly.
Poonam is a great individual to work with, and I would happily recommend her to future applications. Spending time understanding the profile thoroughly, being flexible, patient, determined, and most importantly the constant moral support are some of the qualities for which I would recommend her. She turns the essays into natural storytelling making them easier to understand for audiences.
I interviewed with MIT and am accepted into the Kellogg EMBA program. Thank you, Poonam, for your continued support!
