One of the highlights of my AIGAC conference last week was an unexpected yet heartwarming reunion with my former student, Katherine, at UCLA Anderson. ��
On the final day of the conference, I sent her a quick message saying I’d be in Mariam Hall, just in case she was around. To my delight, she walked into the room during our professional development session, radiating her signature enthusiasm! ✨
We had a brief but cheerful chat outside the hall—she had class, and I was in a session. But the story didn’t end there…
That weekend, Katherine drove an hour to meet me at my hotel for a proper catch-up. Over a lovely three-hour get-together, she shared highlights of her incredible two-year journey at Anderson - she’s graduating next month! ��
There was so much to talk about that we ended up recording my first-ever in-person student interview. I can’t wait to share it with you all soon, complete with the transcript.
Sometimes, small gestures create the most lasting bonds. Katherine’s effort to meet up despite the distance meant a lot. Moments like these reaffirm the value of what we do.
