Undoubtedly, GMAT is one of the critical components of the MBA application package. Over the past few years, GMAT averages at many schools have increased as business schools place significant emphasis on the GMAT, along with other factors in MBA admissions. Though some schools also provide test waivers now, applicants still need to provide evidence of their qualitative skills. GMAT or GRE remains a critical component of the application package. Therefore, students with less than stellar GMAT are often unsure if they would be competitive for their desired schools. As a result, when guiding students with their application, I frequently encounter the following common questions:
- "I have a GMAT score of XXX. What are my chances of admission for YYYY school?"
- "Which school should I consider applying to?"
While the answers to these questions depend on various other factors (goals, work experience, accomplishments, leadership stories, skills, extracurricular activities, voluntary work, and more, it remains undeniable that a robust application package (including résumé, essays, short questions, recommendation letters, and interview) plays a pivotal role in showcasing your candidacy and ultimately determining your chances of success to any institution.
To address these queries, we have compiled a list of schools (along with their respective GMAT score ranges) where MER students have gained admission to a range of programs, including MBA, EMBA, and specialized Master's programs. It is worth noting that some of these students also received scholarships. The following stats can help you with the following:
- Understand a strong application's role in securing admissions (and scholarships, too).
- Assist you in narrowing down your list of achievable schools based on your GMAT score.
While the following list is not comprehensive, it gives you an idea of what is feasible.
Please note that this list includes stats of students MER has assisted in the past 12 years (since 2011). We created this list a few years back, and since then, we have been updating it every few years.
