Important Update – GRE Testing at Home Starting March 23

Covid- 19 has impacted lives globally in the past two months. Among other things, the GMAT and GRE centers have been shut down to avoid the spread of the pandemic. To safeguard the health of test-takers and enable them to take the test in the comfort and safety of their home, ETS will now be conducting GRE General test online.

Yes, it is official. Taking the GRE General Test at home is available from March 23 in selected countries - the United States, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong (China) and Macau (China). The content, format, on-screen experience, and scoring of the test will be the same as the GRE General Test taken at a test center. There will be a live proctor monitoring you during the test


1. You must have computer equipment that meets the requirements for the test
2. You must have a room that provides an acceptable environment for the test
