How will we do this?

Step 1: Initial Review: I will do a detailed review of your resume and provide you with resume template, pertinent resume samples, and my guidelines so that you can update your resume accordingly.

Step 2: Define quantifiable achievements: In this step, I will push you to dig deeper to provide relevant details about the following:

  • Your career progression
  • Results achieved in each job
  • Leadership roles held
  • Quantifiable accomplishments and impact
  • Education, awards, certifications, extra-curricular activities, community involvement, interests, etc.

Step 3: Final Refinement: We will do final refinement of your resume to ensure that this is not just a list of jobs you held, but this is YOU. • A clear idea of your career history and skills gained
  • List of strengths that we need to highlight in your application to convince the Ad Com of your ability to realize your career aspirations.
  • List of weaknesses (if any) and formulating a strategy to mitigate or represent weaknesses so that they become amazing opportunities to set your application apart.

Step 2: Brainstorming Session to select the best stories that showcase your professional and personal traits. In this one hour skype session, we will pull out all the pertinent personal and professional stories for your essays. In addition, we will also focus on the following:

Goal – Organizing Relevant Information: In the first two edits of each essay we will:

  • Ensure that every paragraph of the essay is properly organized and serves the intended purpose
  • Provide suggestions on filling any gaps in the story and refining the content to ensure that the message is conveyed in a convincing and persuasive manner
  • Ensure that you clearly and effectively communicate your ability to contribute to the business school (e.g. 'goals essay' and 'contribution' essay)
  • Demonstrate how you will leverage the school’s curriculum to achieve your career goals (e.g. 'goals essay' and 'why x school essay')
