UT Austin McCombs MBA Essay Questions Analysis – 2016-17

There is no major change in the essay prompts of this year. Like last year, McCombs business school asks its applicants to write two required essays and one optional essay. However, both the essays have been tweaked a little bit.  Also, one of the communication methods (about.me option) for the first question has been dropped. The essay prompts for this year’s application remain unchanged from the prior year. Like last year, applicants are asked to respond to four brief required prompts. They can also write an optional essay. However, re-applicants are asked to answer three additional essay prompts (one more than last year). Admissions consultants from around the world met with admissions directors from most of the top schools at the 9th AIGAC  conference at MIT.  Held at MIT (June 14-15) with visits to Tuck (June 13), HBS (June 16), and Babson and Fletcher  (June 17), the conference was an enriching experience.  The MIT Panel discussions on the first day provided valuable insights into various offerings by the school.
